What information should be provided when asking for a PVC compound quote?

PVC wire and cable compound is not a single standard product. Pellets with the same color and hardness may perform differently under different cable sizes, extrusion speeds and temperature ratings.

Start with the finished application, such as building wire, electronic hook-up wire, power cord sheath, plug molding, outdoor cold-resistant cable or appliance internal wiring.

Then specify the target rating, flame-retardant requirement, environmental compliance, odor requirement, cold resistance, oil resistance or abrasion resistance if applicable.

Processing details also matter. Extrusion speed, wire size, mold structure, injection temperature and common defects help the factory recommend a more practical formulation.

If samples or test reports are available, provide them early. They help evaluate hardness, clarity, color, flexibility and processing behavior.
